At Saiei Holdings (hereinafter referred to as “Saiei Group“), we place our highest priority on being dependable and trustworthy, and we will handle all gathered personal information appropriately with great care.
1.Purpose of Using Personal Information
Personal information will be acquired by lawful and fair procedures for the sole purpose of business activities within the scope of the reasonable business activities of Saiei Group. This policy will be clearly stated at the time of admission procedures.
2.Content of Acquired Personal Information
Saiei Group will collect personal information of members in the following range in principle. The following are examples and are not limited to those listed below.
(1) Contact information; including name, age, gender, address, phone number and email address.
(2) Information on documents submitted at the time of admission to the school, including application forms, bank account transfer request forms, and notification forms.
(3) Various registration information; including name, user ID, etc. submitted in our online service registration procedure.
(4) Information on application procedures for various internal and external tests, and English, mathematics, and kanji examinations.
(5) Information on bank account debit payments for enrollment fees, textbook fees, testing fees, administrative fees, tuition fees, etc.
(6) Data of members related to internal and external test data, enrolled schools, information within the enrolled group, schools of members’ choice, entrance examinations, course guidance, parent-teacher interviews, etc., generated in the course of business activities.
(7) Various certification that the member has.
3.Acquisition of Special Care-Required Personal Information
Except in those cases set forth in the following, Saiei Group will not acquire special care-required personal information without obtaining in advance a principal’s consent.
(1) Cases based on laws and regulations.
(2) Cases in which there is a need to protect a human life, body or fortune, and when it is difficult to obtain a principal’s consent.
(3) Cases in which there is a special need to enhance public hygiene or promote fostering healthy children, and when it is difficult to obtain a principal’s consent.
(4) Cases in which the said special care-required personal information is being open to the public by a principal, a government organization, a local government, a person set forth in each item of Article 76, paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other persons prescribed by rules of the Personal Information Protection Commission.
(5) Other cases prescribed by cabinet order as equivalent to those cases set forth in Article 17, paragraph 2 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
4.Utilization for Unintended Purpose
Saiei Group will not use the acquired personal information of members for any purpose other than the conduct of business purposes. Furthermore, we will not use them for any other purpose without the consent of the individual, and will take appropriate measures to ensure this.
5.Outsourcing the Management of Personal Information
Saiei Group may entrust the management of personal information to a third party who has signed a non-disclosure agreement. In such cases, we will select a third party that has taken sufficient measures to protect personal information, and will conduct necessary and appropriate supervision of the third party to ensure the level of personal information protection.
6.Joint Utilization of Personal Information and Its Scope
The acquired personal information will be jointly used within the Saiei Group, and will be managed under the same protection management scheme as in the previous article. The personal information to be shared will be within the scope specified in “2. Content of Acquired Personal Information”.
7.Exceptions Regarding Collection, Use, and Disclosure
Personal information may be disclosed to a third party without the consent of the individual under the following circumstances only.
(1) Cases based on laws and regulations.
(2) Cases in which there is a need to protect a human life, body or fortune, and when it is difficult to obtain a principal’s consent.
(3) Cases in which there is a special need to enhance public hygiene or promote fostering healthy children, and when it is difficult to obtain a principal’s consent.
(4) Cases in which there is a need to cooperate in regard to a central government organization or a local government, or a person entrusted by them performing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and when there is a possibility that obtaining a principal’s consent would interfere with the performance of the said affairs.
8. Management of Personal Information
In order to prevent loss, falsification, leakage, etc. of personal information, Saiei Group implements appropriate information security measures to deal with unauthorized access, computer viruses, etc.
9.Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information
Saiei Group recognizes that the person in question has the right to disclose, correct, suspend, or delete his/her personal information, and will promptly respond to the above requests within a reasonable period of time and scope.
10.Maintenance and Improvement of Privacy Policy
Saiei Group has established this policy and other regulations regarding personal information, and pledges to implement, maintain, and improve them by making them known to all employees and other related parties, and pledges to apply penalties in the event of violations.
